About Me:I'm a 33 year old (as of Aug. 10, 2007) Cincinnati-area native. Avid bowler with reasonable accomplishments within the sport. I have 4 wonderful children with one 'in the oven', due October 7, 2007.
Music:I listen to just about anything. Pop and country are primary interests, but will not change the station if anything else comes on. If you sit in my truck, most likely you will hear 700 WLW (talk radio) as this is usually my pick when driving due to amazing station-range from the 50,000 watt transmission tower!
Movies:I prefer action movies, but also trend towards comedies. I don't care too much for dramas as they are boring or horror/slasher flicks as I find those mostly stupid and unrealistic.
TV:Comedy and the crime-dramas, such as CSI, Criminal Minds, Without A Trace, and Cold Case. I also frequent the old Seinfeld episodes as they air.
Books:On the very limited occasion I read, it's usually something in the specific-interest category.
Likes:Genuine people with a high regard for others. I tend to associate with persons who are primarily outgoing with a good sense-of-humor.
Dislikes:Arrogance is the MOST major dislike, as I am sure it is with just about anybody. People with a 'standoffish' disposition are also pretty low on my list. My motto is "If you're too good for everybody else, why do you even leave your residence?"
Hobbies:Bowling, of course. Second to that, I am extremely interested in the forces of nature. I chase local severe storms (severe thunderstorms and tornadoes) and have an extremely high level base and specific knowledge with these events. Among that, I play the XBOX 360 with my children and tool around on the internet as well.
Vices:I smoke, although not very much. I also have a temper if and when my fuse is lit, which is a difficult task. I can contain myself, but find it very difficult at times.
Heroes:Armed Forces personnel who face danger every day in foreign lands to protect the rights and freedoms we enjoy and take for granted every day. My children are my heroes as well. They have weathered a divorce and have a difficult time on occasion, however, maintain and demonstrate respect and a genuine love of people, a fantastic and unbiased respect for others, and a bond with myself, their mother, and each other that is unrivaled.
Well, here we are at the beginning of 2008. I eagerly anticipate a good year this year in the sport and aspire to accomplish some great things. In addendum to my last post, my game has steadily improved over the course of the past 3 months, averaging around 217 for the period across multiple venues. Something I would call a drastic improvement. Tomorrow, I will head to Lexington, KY to bowl the Bradley Open. Hopefully, my already tender hand will improve by my 1:00PM EST squad time. Time for a good massage for it tonight and maybe a good soak to loosen up the swelling.
I bowled tonight and might I say, the carry on the pair was horrid. A couple mistakes kept me out of the pocket a couple times tonight, but even when in the pocket, the ball was finishing oddly. I am not going to let my head get the best of me tomorrow. Sometimes, it's hard for me to let tonight be tonight and approach the task at hand tomorrow with a clear head, but we'll see what transpires. I already informed the wife-type that if I get down there and am not feeling 'it', I will not bowl. I'm pretty good on acting correctly on gut instincts, but she did have to talk me into going down tomorrow as I was seriously considering not attending this year's event.
I suppose time will tell with this one. I will post more later!
Well, I finally had some people talk me into this. Personally, I find management of my MySpace page to be cumbersome enough, but I suppose I can manage two! I'm not too good at this type of thing, so bear with me.
So...on to bowling!
The end of last year presented me with tremendous difficulty, so needless to say, the break I was about to incur at the beginning of April was a very welcome relief from a stressful year. I guess the addage that states "The game is 10% physical and 90% mental" came into a more definitive light. In the last half of 2006, I watched a marriage disintigrate which took a tremendous toll on me personally. I found it extremely hard to focus on the lanes, take corrective action when shots changed, and even began to lose interest as the problems worsened.
As the end of the season approached, my mindset started to stabilize, particularly as my ex-wife and I began to work through our difficulties, see eye-to-eye in realizing our union was over, and we faced the reality that even though we won't be together, we can remain friends and help each other out, particularly in the interest of the children who were precariously caught in the middle of this mess.
In December of 2006, I met an amazing woman named Melanie who fits and compliments my persona better than I ever imagined. We are expecting a child on October 7th which we are eagerly anticipating. Also, Melanie, my ex-wife, myself, my children, my parents, and my friends all appear to respect my position and all have even commented on how happy we are. Needless to say, I'm thrilled!
Well, I stuck with my general practice of taking my summers off from bowling. Unlike years of past, I even segregated myself from regionals, which I usually log at least a few during the summers, mostly due to the slump last year. I just wanted to give my head some time to prepare for this year and tie up some personal loose ends. At the end of July, I finally set foot in a bowling center with the mindset of bowling. From the first outing on, I have seen a tremendous increase in repetitive shot-making, accuracy, and scoring. That is leading to some higher hopes for this upcoming season. We'll see what this season holds. Hopefully, some good things! I'll remain in touch pertaining to that!
its not like that for us in league either, in league we usually only have 4 boards for error for a house shot, which is hard for a house shot but not hard in general, but when its just open play, they lay out sh1t oil patterns so its not difficult to throw a 300 but you can still leave alot of 7 or 10 pins if the person starts getting lazy with the shot becuz its so easy, know what i mean?
